Reading Fluency Workshop Agenda

  • Meet and connect with our workshop facilitator, Shaleena McGregor-Leckie.

  • Participants will be guided through the expectations of the workshop regarding conduct and technology support. An overview of the workshop content will be briefly discussed.

  • Participants will be given a brief overview of the essential components children must master to become proficient readers.

  • Participants will gain a clear understanding of what reading fluency is and why it is an essential skill for reading comprehension.

  • Participants will be guided through 6 fluency strategies to implement at home with their child(ren). These strategies are back by decades of research in linguistics, neuroscience, and cognitive psychology.

  • Participants will have the opportunity to ask the facilitator questions related to the content that was shared throughout the workshop.
